Project Uplift Tampa Inc. Celebrates Team Uplift’s First Tournament Win of 2026

There’s nothing like starting the year with a win, and for Team Uplift, 2026 is already off to an incredible start.

Project Uplift Tampa Inc.’s youth basketball team proudly secured their first tournament championship of 2026, marking a major milestone for the program and the young athletes who have committed themselves to growth, both on and off the court.

More Than a Game

While the trophy is exciting, this victory represents something deeper. Team Uplift is built on developing well-rounded youth through basketball, using the game as a tool to teach essential life skills:

• Teamwork – Learning how to support one another and work as a unit

• Communication – Building confidence in expressing and encouraging

• Discipline – Staying committed, focused, and prepared

• Coordination – Strengthening both physical ability and mental awareness

• Sportsmanship – Competing with respect, integrity, and heart

"These lessons are the true foundation of the program and they were on full display throughout the tournament." said Coach John.

From start to finish, Team Uplift showed determination, resilience, and unity. The players trusted each other, executed what they’ve been practicing, and rose to the moment when it mattered most. Coaches and supporters witnessed not just strong gameplay, but real leadership, growth, and confidence emerging in each athlete.

For many of these players, this was their first tournament win making the moment even more meaningful.
